Article: How to Become a Runner

The training plan that follows is designed to get you to the point where you can run 30 minutes (about 2 miles) at a slow, relaxed pace. It's a simple, progressive program that begins with more walking than running, and gradually evolves into more running than walking.

Whew.. straight-up running has always been a scary thing for me.. this program still seems pretty intense, but I think the slow build up to the 30mins would be great, and quite possible.
You going to do it?

I'm giving it a shot. It's not quite fast enough to get to the 5k this September, but we'll see. 5k is only 1 more mile than the program outlines, so I wonder if I can't manage it anyway. We'll see how things go.
