I'm down another 2 pounds today, at 188, putting me a couple pounds below what I was when Monkey was born. I'm about 27 pounds away from where I was when we got married! Gotta keep up the streak; this is feeling good!
I sent a whole big box of clothes to Goodwill yesterday, and I need to pick up a ball-point needle for my sewing machine so I can alter my tshirts to my new size. I am so NOT going back to where I was. I also can't afford to replace EVERYTHING right now. But more and more of my clothes don't fit - in a good way!
Interestingly, I find that there is an awkward spot between large and medium. The sizes can't seem to make up their minds: some of the mediums fit, some of them I've still got quite a ways to go. And of course, as long as I'm nursing I'll be a bit top-heavy, which makes things even more interesting. Once I get those needles I have some fabric that I need to make into shirts, which will actually fit and that will be exciting.

Small Change, Big Help
So I finally got tired of eating the nasty school foods!! So Mom and I decided to buy some lunch meat and have me bring cold lunches to school. I started bringing my own lunches on Monday, and so far, I've already lost 3.5 pounds!! Yay!!! All because I'm no longer eating the nasty, greasy school "food." I'm so excited. Now I have to find a good workout to add to it, and then stick with it, and I'll be all set. I'm so excited!!! ^.^ I've also been snaking less after school, and the lunches I bring stay with me longer so I'm not as hungry at the end of the day. I eat less at dinner, but it doesn't feel like it because I'm eating healthier foods. :)

Weigh-in
Not too bad. I always suffer when I don't drink water, and I had several days in a row, what with Independence Day and the Fast Sunday. I fluffed right up with bloating. But all but 1 pound of that is gone now. My measurements were a mixed bag: some loss, some gain. But I'm back on track and getting things going in the right direction. One thing that's helped is that when I write my measurements, I write down the new number, then in parenthesis I'll put the change for the week and the total change. That's pretty wordy. It's just this:
It's a bit of a mess to look at, and the math is sort of obnoxious. But I've decided that it's absolutely worth it: when I had the gains this week, I could see that there is still progress, even though it wasn't a stellar week. And it has helped keep my thoughts in the way they should be so that I'm still feeling successful, still feeling hopeful. And THAT means that I'm not feeling the urge to sabotage myself. It's worth a bit of messy math to me!
Weight: 203 (+1/-6)
Waist: 36 1/2" (-1/2" / -2 1/4")
Hips: 45 1/4" (+1" / -1 1/4")
R. Thigh: 26 1/4" (+1/4" / -1")

12 Pounds
So today I realized I lost 12 pounds this month! I was shocked when it dawned on me - I've been looking at it all from a week to week perspective, and by that it was kinda depressing! I lost 2 pounds last week. Which I do understand is good, but Dave's family is doing this biggest loser thing and I've always been in the bottom 3! So kudos to them for getting me to the bottom with 2 pounds! :) But today when I thought about the whole month it was a really nice feeling! I've lost 12 POUNDS! At this rate, by the time Josh comes home, I'll be at 180! And by my anniversary I can be at my target for the year! Amazing! :D

Strength Training
I'm thinking about doing this 100 Pushups thing. It's 6 weeks to 100 pushups. Anybody else want to do it with me?
Also, I'm starting to see downward movement on the scale again. Down about 3 pounds this week, but I like to think that 2 of those pounds are water weight, so then I don't count them.

Water is Good. But...
If you haven't been drinking enough, and then you start drinking what you're supposed to, you get bloated. So this is what's happening to me right now. As of this morning, I'd gained 5 pounds in 2 days! I am so chugging on the water!!

Getting There
I'm down a pound this morning! I still have work to do on my exercising; not doing quite enough of that, but I'm starting to see progress!

Grrrr.
Stupid scales anyways. Yesterday it was all happiness and sunshine. Today, if I'm to believe my scale, I'm seriously underweight: it insists that I weigh 90 pounds. I think I'm going to have get a new one! And that always throws off the rhythm. Ugh.

Chugging Along
I haven't actually lost another pound yet, but I was very encouraged when I was on the scale this morning: although it was after breakfast (it only counts first thing in the morning, before breakfast) I was the same weight. I'm hoping that means that I'm starting to teeter on the brink of 197 and will soon be working on 196!
I've been struggling to get my salad up and running, although I'm getting close since Mom cut up the veggies I bought when she was over at my house. Instead I've been eating watermelon and cantaloupe at each meal, which is also yummy. I'm betting that it'll work the same way given the serving size on melon. If I remember correctly you get about 1/2 a cantaloupe for around 100 calories. That works for me! I don't ever eat that much melon in a sitting anyway. That's a LOT of melon!
I'm feeling enough better than I was that I think I'll resume exercise tomorrow. Maybe some aerobics, maybe some weeding. My garden is badly in need of weeding. And Monkey would love to spend some time outside with me, although I'm not sure that I want his help with the weeds... he's just not that discriminating yet! But my one tomato bush has flowers on it already and we've got a good size pepper that's growing, plus more flowers, and a bunch of beans! So I need to get out there and get things going on so the garden stays a do-able project.

Something good goin' on
So, since posting that very silly blog about making salads, I've been making myself make and eat salad at least once a day. Initially it was really not appetizing. Really not. I did ok during the week because I took salad and that was my lunch, period. But that first weekend it was quite difficult to convince myself to eat it.
However, it has surprised me how much easier eating salad has gotten. This past weekend, I ate it (with crispy chicken thrown on top) 'cuz nothing else looked good! Woah! I found myself wanting to eat it!! (and perhaps crispy chicken isn't the best thing to throw on top.. but I let myself do it on the weekends as a treat to me) :) The rest of the time it's all about cauliflower, carrots and almonds. And I'm finding that it is tasting SO GOOD!
I know, crazy talk! But, it's a good good thing :)
I made myself a Workout Diary to prep for the wedding. I wrote out a workout regime for every week from now 'til then - with little boxes to check off when I do it (for the nerdy list maker within) and I set the goal to lose 30lbs in 20weeks. I'm not going to freak right out if I don't make it, I imagine that I'll get pretty crazy near the end with all the other stuff going on.. BUT goals are great to have out there. And if I don't quite reach it, but I lose some and get more toned, I'll still be quite pleased with that.
